Volunteer Story: Keith Loken

Keith Loken (he/him) is a volunteer with the NJP Bellingham field office after a distinguished career working for the U.S. State Department.

His volunteer supervisor says "As part of the Swinomish Driver Relicensing Program, Keith works with Indigenous clients who need legal help getting their driver’s licenses reinstated. Without a driver’s license our clients face significant barriers to securing stable employment, accessing healthcare, exercising their protected treaty fishing rights, and engaging in traditional cultural practices. Keith has continued to volunteer through the COVID-19 pandemic, despite the many obstacles, as we transitioned our program to a virtual clinic. Clients appreciate his steady, patient manner and warm smile. Thank you, Keith, for your dedication to NJP and its clients.”
