Evicted and recovering from cancer, Victoria seeks housing security

“I was renting a room close to the hospital where I was getting treatment for multiple cancers. Suddenly, I was evicted, and my security deposit was held. I had to sleep on my daughter’s couch while recovering. A social worker at the hospital connected me with my attorney at Northwest Justice Project.

My NJP attorney helped me get my security deposit back and I was able to put it towards a new apartment. My attorney was wonderful!

Things are going better. I am still recovering, but I’m working a little bit.”
