Bonnie: Avoided tax foreclosure

Bonnie’s dementia is advanced and had gotten worse since her husband died. By the time her son realized that her property taxes were not being paid, it had been two years. Her son wanted to help but was in a bind from a work-related neck injury and employment fraud. She was facing foreclosure.

Ultimately, an NJP attorney was able to help Bonnie find a program to pay her property taxes and Bonnie was able to stay in her home.

As Bonnie’s son says, “NJP really helped us. People’s troubles aren’t always because they’re lazy. Don’t take things at face value and consider other possibilities.”
