2026 Black History Month Events

February is Black History Month! It started in February 1926, a century ago, as a formal celebration to inspire educators to incorporate Black History into curriculum, and to urge all people living in the US to learn about our collective history. Understanding this history strengthens our ability to protect the civil and human rights of people today – including our rights to equal justice under the law. Together, we celebrate Black History and stand committed to fighting for equity and justice for all.
