Native American Rights Fund

The Native American Rights Fund (NARF) is the non-profit legal organization devoted to defending and promoting the legal rights of the Indian people. NARF attorneys, most of whom are Native Americans, defend tribes who otherwise cannot bear the financial burden of obtaining justice in the courts of the United States. NARF focuses on guaranteeing that national and state governments live up to their legal obligations primarily through the courtroom.

Street Youth Legal Advocates of Washington

Street youth face a variety of legal problems, including family issues, educational problems, mental health issues, and difficulty accessing state and federal entitlements such as housing and financial assistance. If these particular needs are not met, youth are often prevented from reaching other goals necessary for leaving life on the streets for stable housing, jobs, and educational opportunities. SYLAW provides legal assistance and referrals.

The Tenants Union -- Affordable Decent Housing for All

The Tenants Union is a Washington State organization that has been providing information to tenants and fighting for stronger tenants' rights since 1976. Their online brochures have answers to many of the most commonly-asked questions about solving problems with a current landlord or moving in to a new rental home.

The Washington Defender Association

The Washington Defender Association is the only organization in Washington dedicated solely to public defense issues and public defense attorneys and investigators. WDA provides over 700 members with access to the most recent developments in criminal law through training seminars, publications, and its resource assistance.

Washington Protection and Advocacy System (WPAS)

Welfare Rights Organizing Coalition

WROC is made up of families who currenlty receive Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF). WROC organizes groups of women and men to watch how welfare policy is implemented at their local welfare office and how it is made at the legislature and DSHS in Olympia.
